A Day In The Life Of A Hypnotherapist – Thursdays

“Thursdays – A Day Off?  Or Developing New Projects”

Thursdays are another ‘no clinic’ day. Having possibly already seen 15 -19 hours of clients in the previous 2 days, I like a day to recharge. I may however do a Skype session now and again on a Thursday if it works out convenient that way.

Mornings

I do my usual writing for the first hour and then go through the emails and enquiries.

I have a reception company that handle all my phone calls. When a prospective client calls up to enquire, the calls are handled in a friendly and professional manner and gives the feel of an actual receptionist working for me and with me.

There are many benefits to this:

1. 100% telephone cover during office hours. If you were looking for treatment and the first person didn’t answer, wouldn’t you try the next number until someone did answer? I want to be the one who answers.

2. Saves me valuable time.  As you will discover, people love to talk about themselves and given the chance they will try and turn a telephone enquiry into a free consultation, that can take ages. And especially so if you have lots of enquiries to deal with.

3. They handle  the ‘money’ question. It is my standard policy that everyone who books in with me has to have secured the booking by some kind of card deposit. I implemented this after getting fed up of cancellations and ‘no-shows’. When I introduced the card deposit, this stopped overnight.

The company I use is fantastic. Not only do they answer my calls, give out information, take payment deposits and send a confirmation of booking email to all new clients, they also send me a text and an email with everything that happens. We have an on-line diary that we can both log into so are both up to date with what is going on.

I get this service for about the cost of 1 client hour per month!

As you know, first impressions count. We all make mistakes now and again, that’s just being human, but the better you can make the first impression, the better all round.

Afternoons.

This depends. If my children are free or on school holidays I may take them out sailing, or canoeing (today we are going surfing – just learning).

Otherwise I catch up on admin and make some notes to make for my web designer and virtual assistants. One of  my web design chaps lives in Sweden, my virtual personal assistant lives in Costa Rica, and my technical web assistants live in India & Malaysia. I also have a graphic designer in Bulgaria.

Although I essentially work as Hypnotherapist in clinics, my online products and services need work, development and attention so Thursday afternoons are sometimes spent on this. My international ‘freelance team’ means I can get great quality services at a fraction of the usual cost – I’ll introduce you to them on the training.

Fridays, I’m back in Harley Street, and I’ll tell you why I split the days like that, in the next article.

If you have any questions at all, please do just ask.
