A Day In The Life Of A Hypnotherapist – Part 5

Fridays – 8 am to 2pm – then finish.

Fridays are a Harley Street Clinic day for me. Very similar to Wednesday but I start early, with first clients at 8 am, as it just works out more practical for me that way.

Mornings.

I leave home at 5.30 am in order to get to Central London by 7 am, so I have time to for some breakfast, relax and check a few emails before I start. I am usually the first one in the cafe when it opens!

I see clients straight through from 8 am to 2 pm when I finish, leaving the afternoons free, but I can typically see 6 clients in this one session.

I used to work Friday evenings but found it interfering with my home life, so I changed it to something that suited me better – one of the great benefits of being self-employed.

Afternoons.

Friday afternoons I may hang around for an hour at a different cafe and get some lunch whilst checking emails, before heading off home. Or Alison may come and meet me and we’ll take advantage of one of those Michelin Star Restaurant offers when dining off peak.

2-Day Split

I used to run my two London days together – Wednesdays and Thursdays – but found it more practical to have them a day apart. Many people are happy to come once a week, but occasionally it’s nice to be able to offer more intensive sessions,  especially for people who are only in the area for a short while. The day between means you can see people twice in a week and still have a little space between to allow everything to sink in.

Typical people I have helped over the last few Fridays include …

Stuttering

Public Speaking Presentations

Childhood Abuse

Confidence Building

Psychosomatic Illness for child stressed at school

Self-Belief At Career

Nail-Biting

Thumb-sucking

Weight Loss

Successful Business Coaching

Personal Development

Bulimia

Exam Confidence.

Separation Anxiety

… And more.

I don’t work weekends but I know people who do, and they do very well, because some people only like to make appointments at the weekends, owing to midweek commitments.

Can you just work in one place? Is that enough?

Yes, absolutely. For many years, I worked from a spare room at home, 4 days a week. Then I moved to a clinic and was there 4 or 5 days week.

When I moved home out of London, I wanted to keep my London Practice but also set up something locally, so that I didn’t have to commute every day.

Now I work 3 clinic days and in those times I can typically see 15 – 20 hours of clients (or more) – which is enough for me.

I know people who see 30 -40 hours of clients a week and I know others who are content with 2 or 3, because it suits their lifestyle.

It is entirely up to you how you design your practice, your life, your business.

You may follow my model, or do something completely different. The wonderful benefit about the knowledge I will teach on this course, is that it can be applied in so many varied ways.

You will be drawn to use it in the most useful and appropriate way for you and, on the course, I’ll also be helping you realise what that is and make full use of it.

If you have any questions at all, please do just ask.
